Making Video with Your Phone

A practical, confidence-boosting online workshop.

You don’t need a fancy camera, expensive kit or technical know-how to make good video. You already have everything you need in your pocket.

Making Video with Your Phone is a friendly, hands-on online workshop designed for people who want to create videos they actually feel comfortable sharing – using just their mobile phone.

Across two relaxed sessions, participants will be guided step by step through the whole process of making a short video, from planning and filming through to editing and finishing. The workshop is practical, supportive and jargon free, with a strong focus on building confidence and keeping things simple.

A key part of the course is creating a short script for a fun, manageable video that everyone can make. In the first session, we focus on filming techniques – how to frame shots, get good sound, use light effectively and film with purpose.

In the second session, we bring it all together by editing the footage, understanding how editing works, and turning clips into a finished video that feels polished and intentional.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Feel confident filming video on their phone
  • Understand how to plan a simple video before pressing record
  • Know how to film clear, watchable footage without stress
  • Learn how mobile video editing works, step by step
  • Complete a short video they can be proud of
  • Leave with a repeatable process they can use again and again
